SECTOR // COMMERCIAL

With commercial projects clients have very specific functional requirements that often requires us to collaborate with specialists in order to design working spaces. Sustainability, flexibility and low maintenance are key qualities that we look to integrate into the design to maximise the longer-term cost of running the building.

SECTOR // COMMUNITY

These projects have proved to be very interesting to work on, as they provide a wider audience of end user and therefore can potentially have a greater impact. Our experience has meant we understand working for charities and the balance they need to find between obtaining best value and long-term quality. The design often needs to be approved through a series of committees in order for the funding to be agreed. Key aspects we have found to be imperative to these schemes are flexibility, future proofing, good quality build, simple material selection and low maintenance design.

SECTOR // EDUCATION

Th is sector is no longer purely classrooms as learning becomes more varied the buildings and spaces that accommodate them are changing.  Having worked in education from new build nurseries, primary schools and university campus buildings at previous practices, we can bring this level of knowledge to smaller scale adaptations and new build schemes that educational establishments need to provide. We bring a varied background of sector experience that means that we can bring commercial and community design aspects into the education setting.

SECTOR // RESIDENTIAL

From extensions, to house remodelling to new build houses, working with clients on their own homes is a very collaborative process, which involves design option studies and client evaluation of priority and wish lists. Improvements to existing houses have included: Creating open plan living spaces which have a free flow to the garden, adding more bedrooms and reviewing storage potential of the house, rationalising the connection of existing spaces, improving the external appearance. With new build homes, it is imperative to carry out a thorough consultation process with the client to summarise all objectives and realities, which are used to assess the design as it progresses. The end goal is to create an aspirational home that is as energy efficient as possible and minimises impact on the environment.
