The client was looking to amalgamate two separate sites into one building, which would accommodate office space, a mobile phone recycling centre, a disaster recovery centre for local businesses and a demonstration space to showcase the companies' new products. The objective was to provide a dynamic working environment for this high tech company.
The 1200m2, 2-storey building was designed with a central circulation space which housed a double height reception space with mezzanine link over, a demo suite/showroom and a boardroom, along with the toilets and lift. The 2 wings either side of this central area enabled clear open plan spaces with natural light maximized. It incorporated a ground source heat pump, SUDS, high insulation & PV panels on the roof.
